The three main beauty products I purchased this morning have been on my lust list for a little while and finally got round to picking them up.
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid lipstick in Orange Shot 25 £5 – Liquid lipsticks are having a major moment and the colours available in the Maybelline Vivid Matte range are super hot. This is comfortable, non-drying matte colour at its best. One coat gives an almost translucent stain, two coats gives a seriously bright pout. I’ve used better liquid lipsticks in terms of staying power and it does transfer a bit but others have always been too drying. Maybellines version is soooo creamy and comfortable. The only thing I’m not major keen on is the scent as its a bit too chemically but I can over look this as I am totes obsessed with this shade. Yum.
L’ oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask £4.99- I’ve been dying to try this clay mask as I’m really struggling with my skin at the mo. It seems to be crazy oily and I’m having painful hormonal break outs on my jawline and neck. This range of new masks by Loreal comes in three types: glow mask, purity mask and detox mask. The detox version seemed to fit the bill for my congested skin. This mask smells amazing, the texture and packaging are really luxe for it’s price tag. I’ll be putting it to the test and soaking in a creamy bubble bath later.
Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation £4.98 – Normally I don’t go for lighter coverage foundations but I was drawn to the sound of this base as it promises matte shine free skin that doesn’t clog pores. The SPF 15 is also a bonus. I’ve worn it today and it’s light mousse-like texture really does feel super fresh. The coverage was actually better than I thought, more like a medium coverage than light which I was pleasantly surprised by. It does dry quickly on the skin though so you have to be quick rubbing it in. The big negative for me, and always has been with Rimmel foundations IMO, is the poor choice of shades. I decided to go for soft beige 200 which is slightly to pale but 201 was way too dark and too pink for my skin tone. It’s is heading for winter though so a paler shade is not the end of the world. Am interested to see how to shine free promise holds up after a day at work too.
